Galle Fort in the Beautiful City of Galle
Galle is the capital city in the southern province of Sri Lanka. It is spread over 6.5 square miles. It has also been named a World Heritage City by UNESCO. Galle has been known as a trading city since ancient times. Galle port is known as a unique port due to its location in the Indian Ocean and some scholars are of the opinion that Tarshish, the great trading city of South Asia mentioned in the ancient Bible, may be Galle. Since before 1400 BC, cinnamon has been exported from Sri Lanka to foreign countries. Galle port has been used as the main trade channel for those exports. Galle port has been used as the main port of the country even before the westerners conquered Sri Lanka. Galle city is a city that is praised by local and foreign people who have won the tourist attraction.

Galle Fort is a fort built by the Portuguese in the Galle region of Sri Lanka. Later it was modernized by the Dutch in the 17th century and now it has a history of 400 years. Currently two gates are used to enter the fort. Many government office buildings have been maintained around the fort wall till today. But now they are being removed little by little. Galle Fort, designated as a World Heritage Site, is a beautiful and ancient treasure. Galle Fort is located on the southeast coast of Sri Lanka. It was completed by the Portuguese in 1588. It was later extensively modernized by the Dutch in the 17th century. It is a wonderful product gifted to the world by the Portuguese. Galle Fort has been recognized by the United Nations as having ancient value. It is a fine example of Dutch architecture. Also known as Dutch Fort or Galle Wall. Dutch Fort has been renovated. Galle Fort is a major tourist attraction in Sri Lanka. It is an architectural and archaeological heritage of Sri Lanka. Galle Fort is known as a defense fort. It is a fort controlled by the government of Sri Lanka and is open to the public. The UNESCO World Heritage Site is located in the city of Galle, Sri Lanka.
